"I have had a love/hate relationship with cymbal stands for years. Well, cymbals too… Fortunately, I have found something that has squashed nearly all of the drama. It’s called the “CymbalChief®”. This great little device replaces the felts on cymbal stands. Along with “The Grombal”, it can eliminate the need for washers or wing nuts too.
I have always loved my cymbals on MY stands, but that love can be tested when I’m using a rental kit or another person's kit. By using “CymbalChief®”, I now control the support that each cymbal has on a stand. Regardless of the density of the stand, my cymbals sound like “MY Cymbals”. I have been most surprised at the increased volume and sustain that my cymbals now have, even on my own stands! I always knew that felt dampened the sound of the cymbals a little but I was surprised to hear how much felts stopped sound and energy.
Now, The CymbalChief®(s) has a permanent place in my cymbal bag! They go where my cymbals go, and they are the first things I put on cymbal stands when I’m away from my kit."
